I’ve just been to the hospital to visit a couple of people. One of which is a friend of mine. I met her on the ward when I was in hospital.she is currently waiting for a new liver. Every week I see her she looks more and more unwell, and it breaks my heart. She’s been so strong and positive, that she hasn’t let anything get in her way. I remember being a bit of an emotional wreak when I was on the list, however I was reasonably well and still able to work. 🙈
During today’s visit she told me some good news. It turns out the surgeon who performed my operation came up and spoke to her to give her some news that a new liver may be available for her tonight! Earlier on in the week she had been offered a new liver but unfortunately the liver wasn’t good enough to transplant.
I hope this is her chance now, as she’s in desperate need of this new liver. I’ve got a day off tomorrow so I’m hoping I’ll be visiting her in ITU post op, rather than still on the ward. I’m excited yet nervous for her, just in case it doesn’t happen.
This proves the fact that we need more donors. She has waited long enough for this and hopefully not much longer. She’s been told she hasn’t got much time, yet no one should have to wait this long. She’s been in hospital for months and I’ve had the honour to get to know and support her as much as I can.
For the other hospital visit I made, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you get back home soon. 😊

I will say a prayer too. I noticed when I was visiting mum in hospital last week all the posters and a van outside advertising the importance of organ donation 💕
