It’s been 3 months since my surgery, yet it feels like an age! I had my final clinic appointment with the surgeons yesterday, and was taken off a few of my meds. One of which was Warfarin, thank god! For anyone of you who have been on Warfarin, I’m sure you will agree that it’s a hassle to be on. I needed my bloods checking regularly, with little notice. The GP would be fully booked by the time I needed my next one so had to get to the nearest hospital instead. Luckily my mum and dad were on hand to give me a lift.
I’m now driving, so I have my independence back. I feel very thankful that I’ve healed well. My scars are very neat and have started fading without using any bio oil. They don’t hurt so much, but still feel numb in some places.
I’ve kitted the car out with a back seat cover for Logan so that we can take him out. We went on a spontaneous trip to Weston-Super-Mare, which would have been hard to do pre transplant. Logan enjoyed his first experience in the sea. He had got pretty dirty, but soon dried off under the sun.
Here is to more trips away, along with well deserved holidays!
