26.03.20 – Very High Risk

After Boris’s message last week, as a very high risk person, I was sent a text message advising me on what stringent guidelines to follow.

After receiving this message I decided to drive back home again. I returned last week because I wasn’t mentally prepared to go back. Being at home is a reminder of being unwell and even more isolated in the middle of nowhere. Whilst it would be someone’s dream to isolate here, I have a negative association. So yes, I’m back now, got emotional on the first day but was taken out for a walk with my mum which straight away cheered me up. She knows I strive off company and exercise, so it really helped. After that, I quickly settled in.

I’ve just been out for a walk with my dad today. Strolled through the wood and learned a bit about trees. It’s more interesting now I’m a bit older. I seem to care more about the environment, global warming, recycling, food waste.

Look at this Pinecone! It’s from a European Larch tree. It looks like a rose. How beautiful ❤️🌹

It’s so peaceful and quiet, more than ever here. I wake up to birds singing, eat my breakfast out in the garden and have the cat to play with. I’m not complaining now.

I really hope you are all okay. I often think about my colleagues in ITU and wish I was there to help, but I’m following government guidelines and doing my bit by staying home. Stay safe everyone!
